It has been a fantastic end to the season for some of our travelling sailors. In no particular order:

Jim Hopton

Jim has had some very credible results against a competitive Phantom fleet this year: 4th at the Phantom Open at Bowmoor, 6th at their Inland Championships at Chase and 3rd in their Midland Championships.

Mike Cossey

So far this year Mike has travelled to Carsington for the Solo Midland Championships where he came 22nd, the Solo Open at South Staffs where he came 11th and 2nd at the Solo Open at Chelmarsh.

Jamie Cuxson

Storming up the Solo fleet Jamie has come 18th in the Midland Championships at Carsington, 10th in the Solo Open at South Staffs, an amazing 3rd at the Solo Open at Banbury and an 11th in the Midland Championships at Northampton. Hes currently sitting in 3rd place overall on the Midland Solo circuit.

Jamie took it to his first RS300 open meeting at Whitefriars where he came 6th overall.

Olly Saunders

Olly joined Mike and Jamie at the South Staffs open where he came 8th and Banbury where he came 6th.
Cole joined Olly in the Lark for the open at South Staffs where they came 7th.

Stuart and Nick Hydon

They have won South Staffs Lark open, came 2nd at Nationals in Brixham, and won the Lark Inlands at Draycote. Stuart then teamed up with Ann Biglin to win the dinghy class at the Dartmouth Royal Regatta.

David Turtle and Zara Frankton

Dave Turtle has been touring his Comet this year, 1st in the Chester Border Counties Midweek Sailing event, 1st at the Comet open at Staunton Harold, and 2nd at the Comet open on the Severn.

Teaming up with Zara Frankton in their Miracle theyve won the Midland Areas at Staunton Harold, Girton Puddleduck, Welsh Areas at Shotwick and End of Seasons at Shustoke!

Oscar and Ralph Cawthorne

The Cawthorne clan have had a brilliant year campaigning in the 420 Oscar (sailing with Henry) won the RYA Youth Nationals, Ralph (sailing with Harry) came 5th in this event but were the first Under 17s boat.

Brian Webley

Came 44th at the Phantom Nationals and enjoyed the sea sailing

Simon Dipple

Lost his traveling virginity when he took part in the Chase Sailing Club Solo Open – much to his surprise, he didn’t come last.
